Counter-Visions Net is a project that bridges art and data science, using data visualization as a critical, aesthetic, and curatorial tool. Here, visualization becomes a visual form of knowledge writing,designed to reveal relationships and connections rather than hierarchies or fixed categories.
The project is built on semiotic databases, which privilege meaning and relationships between data over numerical values, following a systemic and organic approach inspired by complex systems and rhizomatic structures. Each element is represented by a node (type) connected to others through attributes (tags) that define conceptual and thematic affinities:
